Journal 1: Winning actually isn't the only thing.

"Winning actually isn't the only thing." -David Maraniss, http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20120926/SPORTS/709269933/1004

David Maraniss talked about the football game the Packers played against the Seahawks, and brought up a good argument. He talked about how angry he was about the poor call by the refs at the end of the game that gave the Seahawks the lead and to win the game. He mentioned how he had been so upset that he couldn’t sleep and couldn’t calm down for about 12 hours. It got him all worked up, but then he finally told himself it’s just a game. He asked himself if winning the game is everything. David then thought about Russell Wilson, the Seahawks quarterback, and also Pete Carroll, the Seahawks head coach, and how they reacted after the game and what they said during their interviews. How Pete Carroll was running around and jumping with joy after the call was made. As if the call was right that they scored and deserved those points. Then when being interviewed he said how it was a “tough call” when there was nothing tough about it. He eventually then tells how they shouldn’t act like they won and be happy and excited about it and that he would much rather have a bad call called on his team and deal with being angry and upset with the call then have it a be a terrible call in your favor. Going to sleep with that on your mind would be so much worse.
I agree with everything that David talks about. How it was a terrible call and that the coaches and players on the Seahawks team shouldn’t be happy with this win knowing it was a terrible call. Also how he would rather have it this way then be the Seahawks team and have a bad feeling cause if was the wrong call. Plus, winning actually isn't the only thing.

The Believeing Game Part 2-Abortion

I feel that abortion should not be allowed for multiple reasons. First, abortion is intentionally taking the life of another human which is wrong. If you didn’t want a kid, you could have prevented it through abstinence. Abortion can also lead to health risks later in life. Down the road you can be more capable of having miscarriages. Also, abortion frequently causes intense psychological pain and stress. A study showed that women that had an abortion were 154% more likely to commit suicide or suffer depression. Those are just a few reasons why abortion should not be allowed.

The Believeing Game Part 1-Abortion

I feel that abortion should be allowed for multiple reasons. For one thing, women should be allowed to have an abortion because the women who usually want it are very young and have their whole life ahead of them and a child at that time will get in the way of their future goals. Young mothers won’t be able to financially support their baby. Because often times their still in school, they won’t be able to work a sufficient amount of hours to support their baby and juggle school and homework. Also, it is the woman’s right to choose abortion. They should be able to decide what happens with their body. Another thing is, Fetuses are incapable of feeling pain. Those are a few reasons why abortion should be allowed.
